SIX THINKING HATS

Looking at a decision from all points of view

" Six Thinking Hats " is an important and powerful technique was created by Edward de Bono. It is used to look at decisions from a number of important perspectives. This forces you to move outside your habitual thinking style and helps you to get a more rounded view of a situation. Many successful people think from a very rational, positive viewpoint. 





Each "thinking hats" is a different style of thinking
  1.  White hat ( whitepaper ) : Data, facts, information known or needed
  2.  Red hat (fire and warmth) : Feelings, emotions and intuition
  3.  Yellow hat : Values and benefits. Why something may work
  4.  Black hat : Difficulties, potential problems, caution and process or drop
  5.  Green hat : creative thinking or new ideas, possibilities
  6.  Blue hat : Process control situation, make decision, focus, action plans


MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES

Definitions and examples



Linguistic
- To think in words and to use language understand and express complex meanings.
- To reflect o the use of language in everyday life.
- Sensitivity to the meaning of words as well as the order of words, sounds, rhythms and inflections.

Logical / Mathematical
- To think of cause and effect and to understand relationships among actions, objects, or ideas
- To be able to calculate, quantify, consider propositions, and perform complex mathematical or logical operations
- Inductive and deductive reasoning skills, as well as critical and creative problem-solving



Bodily / Kinesthetic
- To think in movements and to use the body in skilled and complicated ways for expressive as well as goal-directed activities
- Ability to move the whole body for physical activities such as balancing, coordination, and sports
- To use the body in expressive, rhythmic, and imitative ways

Musical
- To think in sounds, rhythms, melodies and rhymes.
- To be able to recognise, create and manipulate .

Interpersonal
- To think sensitivity and understanding of other people's mood, feelings and point of view.
- Includes interacting effectively with one or more people among family, friends or working relationships.

Intrapersonal
- To think about and understand yourself.
- To be aware of one's strengths and weaknesses and to plan effectively to achieve personal goals.
Ability to regulate own feelings, moods and emotional responses.

Spatial / Visual
- To think in pictures and to perceive the visual world accurately.
- To be able to think in three dimensions and to transform one's perceptions and recreate aspects of one's visual experience via imagination.


Naturalist
- To understand the natural world including plants, animals or scientific studies.

 Existential
- Life, death, ultimate realties.
